PSPS offers different layers of benefits depending on your circumstances.


In the event of termination of employment, PRESTIGE SALARY PROTECTION SHIELD (PSPS) will pay your last earned salary for a maximum period of 24 months on a reducing scale method as shown below. This reduction is to stimulate job hunt and desire to return to work:

  • 100% of the insured monthly salary for the 1st 6 months
  • 75% of the insured monthly salary for the next 6 months
  • 50% of the insured monthly salary for the next 6 months
  • 25% of the insured monthly salary for the last 6 months

In the event of a member gaining a new employment or having an income generating activities during the benefit paying period and his/her new salary is lower than the existing insured income, PRESTIGE SALARY PROTECTION SHIELD (PSPS) shall provide the shortfall to place you in your original position as it was immediately before the occurrence of loss of job.

Upon a loss of employment, the insured may apply for payment of a Single Sum Benefit on the ground of advanced age or impaired health status. However, such request shall be subjected to submission of documentary evidence to PRESTIGE SALARY PROTECTION SHIELD (PSPS).

In a situation where the insured member of the scheme dies during the benefit payment period, a death benefit of agreed sum assured stated in the policy schedule shall become payable to the beneficiary of record.

Who is qualified?

To be eligible for protection under PPRESTIGE SALARY PROTECTION SHIELD (PSPS), prospective policyholder:

  • Must be an employee of a rated company and industry.
  • Must be in a permanent employment in a qualified occupation
  • Must be earning a minimum salary as prescribed by the scheme from time to time.
  • Must have an active bank account in any of Nigerian Bank

  • You have been in the scheme for a period of not less than twelve (12) months
  • You have lost your job through no fault of your own.
  • You have paid premium to-date on your policy
  • Reside in Nigeria

No, the scheme covers only permanent employees in a paid employment
006. How will my monthly premium be paid or deducted from my account?
You will be provided a mandate form that will enable us to debit your account on an agreed date of every month.
007. How flexible is premium payment? Can I pay my premium on weekly, monthly quarterly bi-annually or on yearly basis?
For convenience, we advise our subscriber (the insured) to do a monthly payment. However, the scheme is flexible for any other payment arrangement that is convenient for the insured.
008. Is there a discount in premium if we sign up as a group?
This is an individual scheme. Group discount is also applicable but subject to terms and conditions of group policy on the scheme.
009. Why is my premium different from my colleague earning the same salary?
Your job history and job profile, among others, are some of the factors considered in premium calculations.
010. What information is required in order to process my claim?

013. How and when are payments made once the claim is approved?
Claims are paid as a direct credit into your bank account on the 25th day of every month, or the next working day, if the date falls on a weekend or a public holiday.
014. When will the PRESTIGE stop paying loss of employment benefits?
The payment will be stopped once you have another job or at the end of the 24th month, whichever comes first
015. On what condition(s) will PRESTIGE not pay a claim?
PRESTIGE SALARY PROTECTION SHIELD (PSPS) will not pay claim when you willingly resign from your job, retire or terminated as a result of fraud.
016. What happens after I apply but I later decide not to continue with the scheme?
PRESTIGE SALARY PROTECTION SHIELD (PSPS) provides a 30-day grace period of free-look window where an individual can opt out of the scheme without any penalty.
